Wow. I actually had to double check just now to make sure it really is week three already. Time flies when you’re actually enjoying your workouts!
As you may have noticed, I was out of town recently. I went home for a week for my sister’s college graduation and to go hang gliding with the family (I’ll post about that later). I took some workout clothes, my sneakers, my PiYo set and was actually very good while I was there! I had to do some re-adjusting of rest days and had to double up, but I ate well, slept well and exercised well. I can’t begin to tell you how amazing it felt to be so wholly in control and relaxed, not feeling guilty for missing workouts or eating poorly.
The most surprising part about the whole thing is that when I came back to Miami, I was exhausted. I allowed myself to skip Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s workouts! Come Friday, I felt horrible, but by then the cycle of laziness had set in and a happy hour invite came, so needless to say there was no Friday workout. Here’s the awesome thing: on Saturday, I woke up with a resolve like one I’ve never known. I didn’t feel guilty about missing those workouts, I just felt determined to get them all in somehow. So I doubled up Saturday, did my one workout on Sunday and am going to double up again today.
In retrospect I feel like my body needed a break, so I’m okay with the fact that I skipped those days. The part that stinks is that I don’t feel different this week than last week, so I’m really going to have to kick it into high gear this week. Here goes!
